PVO
Home defence fighter units (Protivo-Vozdushna Oborona Strany) -- of course, as You see, not all of the units listed were the participants of the Kursk batlle (certainly not the Leningrad PVO units ;-) but I tried to list them as detailed as I could. The German bomber crews that flew their ops somewhat deeper into enemy territory and not only in close support of ground units certainly did not like the flak and PVO units defending communication and railways. Interestingly, as far as I know, some Spanish ex-republican pilots flew with PVO units.
